It was pretty stupid starting again anyway, and served absolutely no purpose.
2nds Vs. SS&A Us 5/130 (K.Arendarcikas 33, B.Drummond 27) and they were 1/3 (Brosolo 1/2) when they were saved from ignominious defeat by the weather.

to 185 (Hart 5/58).
Round 8
23/1/99 & 30/1/99
1sts vs Tallangatta
Rain on Friday night, covers blew off etc.etc., and the resulting one
dayer scores were not flattering to say the least. Tallangatta 8/203
(Naughton 4/48, 2/49), and us a paltry 108 (Duck 29, O'Donnell 20*).
2nds vs Tallangatta
Nearly 50mm of rain in an hour on Friday night resulted in no play and
a one dayer , in which we were kept to 111 (L.Drummond 24, Benstead
20). Tallangatta made 9/125 (Lillyman 5/24, Brosolo 3/19).
3rd Green vs Tallangatta
Tallangatta 175 (Bonser 3/26, Green 3/47) & 2/66, were shellacked
by the Juggernaut blokes 293 (Emmerson 72, Awburn 70).
3rd White vs East Albury

Round 9 6/2/99 & 13/2/99
1sts vs Lavington at Xavier Lavington 227 (Naughton
5/38, Allibon 4/58) and us 1/13. A good effort considering, but the bats have
to have a dip! And they did, making the highest score in the association this
season, 8/329 (P.Duck 97, D.Carroll 93, Allibon 50, Martin 43* [inc. 9 fours
& a 6])
2nds vs Lavington
We batted solidly all day to reach 7/218 (Singline 72, Emmerson 45, Cross 29*)
Not enough however, as Lavington rattled up 289 (Olsen 5/98, Chalmers 4/54)
3rd Green vs Lavington
An absolute slogfest, the chaps amassing 338 (Green 67, Scannell 53, Howard
46, Awburn 42, Nicholls 32, Erickson 31*, Burge 22), and keeping their opposition
to 115 (Burge taking 5/26 in what must surely be a MOM performance) and 8/116
(Benstead 3/2, Bonser 2/4).
3rd White vs Wodonga
194 (Brennan 65, Maher 35, Jones 27) and kept the Bulldogs to 181 (Hart 6/62).
They batted again, with Mahery making 34* and Ian Hartnett 26*.
Round 10 20/2/99 & 27/2/99
SS&A vs St Patricks at Bilson Pk.
Us 199 (Martin 53, D. Carroll 47) & 3/112 (Coles 67*, B.Drummond 32), SS&A

two-in-a-row!!!
2nds vs SS&A at Xavier
SS&A 133 (Chalmers 4/33, Olsen 4/35) & 6/142 (Olsen 5/56) lost to us
204 (Cross 68, Stevens 28).
3rd Green vs SS&A
SS&A 153 (Benstead 4/24) vs us 9/379 (Scannell 165 ret, Young 90). A veritable
run feast, with the two top scorers complaining that the grass was too long!!
Both are in their early forties, which may explain the sooking.
3rd White vs New City
New City 8/214 (Salmon 2/53, Hill 2/59) were flogged by the Whites, who amassed
5/357 (Hill 109*, Brennan 83, Salmon 46*, Jones 30). The thirds have flogged
740 odd runs between them. Not bad.
Round 11 6/3/99 & 13/3/99
St Patricks vs Wodonga at Xavier.
Before rain stopped play at 5.09, Wodonga were 5/160 (C.Arendarcikas 3/37).
As the game reverted to "ordinary conditions" for the duration, Wodonga batted
on to 248 (C.Arendarcikas 8/68). We struggled to 8/119 (M.Carroll 21, Duck 20,
Martin 20), and so the match was drawn.
Wodonga vs 2nds at Martin Pk.
Us 150 (Jacka 50) and before the rain them 1/2 (Chalmers 1/0). Same thing happened
as in the ones, but we managed to tie with them as they made 150 (Chalmers 3/31,
Drummond 3/41, Brosolo 3/46) neat. Things were tense for a while!! We batted
agin and made 5/68 (Star 33*)
3rd Green vs Nth Albury
Us 8/170 (Bonser 42, Thompson 42) and 5/46 def North 162 in a realtight one.
(Cribbes 4/34)
3rd White vs Tallangatta
Tallangatta 156 (Salmon 5/60), and us 6/305 (G.Drummond 110*, Hart 70, Jones
58).
I apologise for the lack of results from the final series, but I've had a bit on. Results will be posted as soon as I can get the books from the clutches of our esteemed Statistician and Treasurer, the Trout.
